Thanos (Josh Brolin) certainly came out on top at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. Not only did he snag all of the Infinity Stones, but he also killed half of the people in the universe. While Thanos is currently enjoying his victory, a new fan theory might reveal how the remaining Avengers plan on taking him out.
When Thanos killed half of the people in the universe, more than a handful of Marvel’s superheroes died with them. This includes Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), though the new theory argues that Strange did a little magic before he left.
The theory argues that Doctor Strange put a curse on the Time Stone before handing it over to Thanos, and a lot of fans believe the theory could be right.

There are several clues that back up the new theory. According to Express, some strange marks appeared on Thanos’ forearm when he used the Time Stone to bring Vision back to life and rip the Mind Stone out of his head.
The marks, per the theory, are an indication that Doctor Strange did something to the stone before surrendering it. Doctor Strange knew the only way to defeat Thanos because he traveled in time and witnessed all of the potential outcomes. That means everything he did in the final moments of his life were in line with whatever outcome defeats Thanos.
The theory argues that this is why Thanos’ gauntlet was destroyed when he used it to wipe out half of the population in the universe. You can also see green light coming out of the gauntlet when it melts away, which is the same color as the Time Stone.
If the theory is true, then Doctor Strange knew that the only way to defeat Thanos was to sacrifice half of the universe to do so. We can safely assume that everyone who died when Thanos snapped his fingers will be resurrected in the next Avengers movie, especially since a lot of the heroes who died — especially Black Panther and Spiderman — have already signed on for solo sequels.

Although the theory is intriguing, we won’t know for sure if its right until the next Avengers hits theaters. The movie is expected to be released in theaters in the spring of 2019, though producers have been very tight lipped about it.
The next Marvel film up for the big screens is Captain Marvel, starring Brie Larson as the eponymous hero and is rumored to be a major player in Avengers 4.
