Ashton Kutcher talked about overcoming divorce and relationship failures during a podcast with Dax Shepard recently, and fans will be surprised to hear how the That 70’s Show alum got over his grueling separation which was the subject of much media speculation.
During an appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast, the actor revealed that he spent a lot of time alone to get over his ex, Demi Moore.
Kutcher said he “went to the mountains” by himself for one week without any technology at all and practiced Tai Chi. He didn’t have any food, alcoholic beverages, or anything which would corrupt his state of mind, including a telephone, computer, or social media-linked device.
Ashton brought four things for seven days, a notepad, a pen, water, and tea. Early in his week-stay in the Big Sky, Montana, the actor began to experience hallucinations, and he practiced Tai Chi to help deal with the stress of the media conjecture at the time.
Not only did he have a spiritual journey, but the actor also took a pen and paper and wrote out remorseful and apologetic letters to every person whom he had ever wronged.
He wrote down “every grudge, regret,” and negative emotion attributed to the experiences he had with another person. Following his trip, he wrote them down on his computer and sent them through email.
Kutcher said it was a lot like Alcoholics Anonymous. When looking back on it now, he realizes it was “kind of awesome,” and “really spiritual.”
As you may know, Moore and Ashton finalized their divorce in November of 2013 just two years after announcing their breakup. Now, Ashton is married to Mila Kunis, whom he married in 2015. They have two kids together.
