Actress Ashley Judd’s new comment follows her previous bashing of the Hollywood producer. After coming forward about being one of the many women in the film industry sexually harassed by Weinstein, the 49-year-old has once again released a statement, this time, claiming she has forgiven him.
As you may already know Judd is, in fact, one of the first alleged victims, who spoke out about the abuse, claiming Weinstein asked her to give him a massage in his hotel suite during a so-called ‘business-meeting.’
Meanwhile, the troubled producer has apologized to his victims for causing them ‘pain.’
‘Though I am trying to do better, I know I have a long way to go. I came of age in the ’60s and ’70s, when all the rules about behavior and workplaces were different. That was the culture then,’ Weinstein explained his actions.
As for what the actress revealed in her book, the producer said: ‘My feeling is I read her book about being abused as a child. Whatever Ashley wants to say about me, I am going to be supportive. I need to earn her forgiveness. I thought we had a relationship at one time [and] the goal’s to get that back.’
Weinstein also added that he believes he has a sickness and is looking forward to fixing it in rehab.
During her appearance on Good Morning America, Judd stated she believes that with ‘the appropriate help’ there is a chance he can change.
However, she then continued by saying that if he really went so far as to rape women, ‘He absolutely should go to jail.’
Rose McGowan, along with a few others has accused Weinstein of raping her.
‘What I’d say to Harvey is, ‘I forgive you. I understand that you’re sick and suffering, and there’s help for a guy like you, too. And it is entirely up to you to get that help,’’ Judd concluded.
