It appears as though Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino have united in the opposition to a common enemy, as both women, once again, are attending events hand-in-hand. The pair, who are vocal supporters of “Time’s Up” as well as its partnering movement, #MeToo, and are united in their condemnation of disgraced producer, Harvey Weinstein.
As all know by now, Judd was perhaps one of the first women to speak out against Harvey in a report from The New York Times back in October of 2017. And during a panel at the Tribeca Film Festival on the 28th of April, Judd used her platform to, once again, speak on the matter.
During her appearance at the festival, she supported the cause and read a letter to survivors who’ve suffered sexual assault and harassment.
Mira Sorvino was at the event along with Judd. She accused Weinstein of similar crimes in a piece for The New Yorker, and, as it was previously reported, Mira and Ashley graced the red carpet together while at the 2018 Academy Awards on the 4th of March.

As you may know, they have known each for a long time, considering they co-starred in a 1996 movie called Norma Jean and Marilyn, a film documenting the life and death of the iconic actress.
Furthermore, Peter Jackson – the director of the immensely successful Lord Of The Rings series – came out in an interview in the past and said that Harvey Weinstein played a role in both women getting considered for his movies.
Jackson said in the interview that Miramax said they were a “nightmare to work with” and he should avoid the pair at all costs. When Peter finally came out about it, both Sorvino and Judd expressed immense gratitude for speaking the truth.
Mira said she felt so relieved to know after all of these years, her career was derailed because of Weinstein. She wrote, “just seeing this after I awoke, I burst out crying.”
