Southern Charm rookie Ashley Jacobs is trying to stay relevant and earn a spot in the cast for season six despite the fact that she and Thomas Ravenel split earlier this month. Last week, she wrote an apology on Instagram aimed at Ravenel’s ex and baby mama Kathryn Dennis, but insiders say it was a calculated move to get on the cast’s good side.
“Bravo production lured Ashley into agreeing to participate in the reunion for $5,000 and a promise to return to Southern Charm,” an insider told All About The Tea. “They couldn’t deliver, because Ashley has zero friends on the cast. The cast members have banded together and are refusing to film with her. She’s now in a panic, trying to make amends.”
In her post, Jacobs wrote that she owed Kathryn Dennis — and Southern Charm fans — an apology for how she treated and disrespected the mom-of-two, saying it wasn’t her place to say anything. She admitted her reckless comments crossed the line, and she hurt people who did not deserve it.
Jacobs went on to say that she spoke with friends and family who have children, and she “never understood the unbreakable bond a parent has with their child.” She says that in the future she will listen, learn, and be more respectful, but until she has her own child, she won’t be able to truly understand the sacrifices parents make for their children. She added that it makes her “feel horrible” to think that she might have taken her own parents for granted.
But insiders insist Jacobs wrote the apology for her own benefit, and it had nothing to do with Dennis. The 32-year-old nurse also attempted to be friendly with Naomie Olindo when she spotted her and her boyfriend in a local bar, but when Jacobs tried to talk to Olindo, the Southern Charm star was “rude and gave her [Jacobs] the cold shoulder.”

And, when Jacobs responded with an insult, Olindo “just ignored her.”
Southern Charm producers will not be bringing back Jacobs for another season, especially since Ravenel has announced his departure amid sexual assault allegations against him. He is also moving on from his relationship with Jacobs, revealing in a series of tweets over the weekend that he is not looking back after her alleged infidelity.
He wrote that his personal life had taken “a huge upward turn,” and he has no doubt or hesitation about moving forward. Ravenel also quoted lyrics from the 1987 Chicago song If She Would Have Been Faithful, and said that after 30 years he finally understands the words.
Ravenel added that he is a bit sad, but he knows that real love is just around the corner.
New episodes of Southern Charm — sans Thomas Ravenel and Ashley Jacobs — will return to Bravo in 2019.
