So empowering! Ashley Graham is always inspirational, and she does not like to just take hate! That being said, her latest response to being fat-shamed made a point that there are many types of beauty out there.
Despite the fact that she is a gorgeous and successful model, Graham is often the victim of criticism for her ‘plus-size’ label.
At size 16, the hot supermodel is definitely bigger than the ‘straight’ models, which gets her body shamed quite a lot on social media.
In fact, one troll has an Instagram account that is dedicated to only body shaming women, and that includes Ashley.
This user usually posts pics that compare skinny women with plus-sized models.
In some of the posts, the thin models are called ‘real’ while the plus-sized ones are dubbed ‘fake.’
Today, Ashley felt like the incessant bullying was enough, so she shared some of these pics on her Insta Stories and responded to the hate.
While she was getting glammed up in the makeup chair, the model said: ‘I know I am being a little petty by posting these stupid photos of somebody who wrote ‘real model and fat model’ but I will let you know nothing defines what a real model or a fat model or fake model is. Your weight, your skin, your hair, your religious background, none of that determines whether you are a real model or not. So all those girls out there who have dreams and hopes keep fighting for them and do not let all the losers on Instagram stop you…’ So inspirational!
Although there is no doubt that Graham’s message will not stop the haters, it may have been what a girl or many out there needed to hear today, and that is progress!
Fans definitely agreed with what she had to say, and one was even super quick to share it on her own account, captioning it: ‘THIS,’ and then adding that the model had said ‘exactly what [she] needed to hear’ after she was told that she was not ‘model material’ due to her weight.
