Arnold Schwaznegger fired MMA fighter Chael Sonnen for cheating in the latest episode of ‘Celebrity Apprentice’. Chael can’t seem to catch a break. Last Saturday, Chael made his long-awaited Bellator debut, where he was easily defeated by Tito Ortiz via submission.
Chael’s last match was three years ago – where he was brutally TKO’d by Rashad Evans, as he was suspended for two years for testing positive for banned substances. Well, it turns out Chael cheats outside the cage too.
The latest episode of ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ shows Chael cutting corners to help his team stay in the game. His team was running out of time on a task that they had to complete, so the “American Gangster” did what he probably thought anyone would do – he cut his team’s computer cord.
He did it to give them more time on account of technical difficulties.Though it worked, his teammates didn’t appreciate his “effort”, and told on him.
Arnold Schwaznegger wasn’t a fan of his antics either, and so Chael felt the full wrath of the show’s host. Confronted by Arnold, Chael somewhat acknowledged that he had made a mistake, but it was too late.
Arnold told him that he knows that Chael thinks his action is a gray area. He added that he doesn’t tolerate cheaters and proceeded to fire him. It would have been way cooler if he had said “you’re terminated”, but he got his message across nonetheless.
Chael took it on the chin though, saying that he understands that it’s a game and he respects how it was carried out.
At least he still has his MMA career. There’s talk that he might get one more chance at the Bellator vs Wanderiel Silva. Meanwhile he just has to talk himself out of cheating.
