Ms. Ariana Grande, the fiancé of the Saturday Night Live star, Pete Davidson, just released a new album that went to number one in the United States. Her record, Sweetener, went to the very top of the Billboard 200 and is now the most popular album of the week – possibly even the month if it continues to dominate the charts.
According to Billboard, Sweetener pulled in around 231,000 units, 127,000 of which are actual physical and Mp3 sales, and the other stemming from streaming units.
Thus far in her career, Grande has only released four albums, and out of all four, three of them have been number one records. Ariana’s career began with her debut, Yours Truly, and the follow-up year, My Everything, which spawned a number of incredibly successful singles.
Her third LP, Dangerous Woman, didn’t manage to make it to the number one spot, but it did very well relative to other performers. Sweetener was released along with two singles, including “No Tears Left To Cry,” and “God Is A Woman.”
“No Tears Left To Cry” debuted at number three, making it her ninth song to reach the highest part of the Hot 100. “God Is A Woman” came in at spot number 11.
“The Light Is Coming,” along with the rapper, Nicki Minaj, made it to number 95, making it a “minor success” in comparison to her other tracks.
It appears as though Ariana isn’t fazed enough by Nicki’s recent remarks to avoid collaborating on new music. As it was previously reported, Nicki Minaj has been making unpopular comments regarding Travis Scott, Kylie Jenner, and others, following her latest record, Queen, that only went to the number one spot.
The rapper insinuated that Travis and Kylie colluded while using their baby, Stormi Webster, as a way of drawing attention to his latest album, Astroworld. Nicki also complained that Spotify failed to promote her new album in the way that they had done for Drake’s Scorpio.
