Ariana Grande opened up about Pete Davidson’s marriage proposal on yesterday’s Zach Sang Show. According to her, the moment was definitely romantic but not ‘googly!’
As you know by now, the pair’s whirlwind romance led to the SNL star popping the big question with a $93,000 diamond ring just weeks after they started dating.
Now, during the new interview, the singer recalled that the proposal ‘was just really simple and really sweet. we’re just like hanging out, and he had the ring, and he just asked me. It was really sweet. He did not get on the knee or anything, thank God…oh my God, that would have been so googly. I am not like a very traditional person, so the fact that I am even getting married is something I never even saw coming.’
‘I never saw that coming, like, I never wanted that, like, I was, ‘F**k that, there is no point.’ I was like, ‘What is the point?’ And then I kinda understood it when it was like, with the right person,’ Ariana explained.
As she promotes her brand new album titled Sweetener, Ariana Grande has been talking about the engagement quite a lot lately.
She and Pete have also already moved in together in a $16 million apartment in New York that Ariana has purchased.
Ariana confessed while on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this week that she had a very long crush on the comedian.
The two met in 2016 on the show, and according to her, after working on sketches together, she left the writer’s room with one thought in mind.
‘I’m marrying him 100 percent,’ she jokingly told her manager at the time.
Meanwhile, Pete told GQ that: ‘The day I met her, I was like, ‘Hey, I’ll marry you tomorrow.’’
Well, it obviously took them way more than one day to get together, but once they did, they did not waste any more time.
