Nicki Minaj’s plight against the Billboard charts has been making headlines for the past week. After the rapper accused Travis Scott of selling merchandise to keep his album at number one, she is receiving support from her friend, Ariana Grande.
Ariana just released her fourth studio album called “Sweetener.” Although the reviews of the album were mixed, Grande has a big enough fan base and solid numbers to take the top spot from Travis Scott.
Her manager, Scooter Braun, was in attendance at a “Sweetener” session she held at The Vic in Chicago on August 22. When he told the pop star on stage that her project would 100% debut as number one, she responded with a cheeky: “We got three days left, you don’t know what Travis Scott could pull!”

The newly engaged singer was referencing Nicki Minaj’s revelations.
During a session on Queen Radio, Minaj voiced her frustrations by saying: “What we’re not gonna do is have that Auto-Tune man selling f****** sweaters telling you he sold half a million albums, because he f****** didn’t. You stupid f***. You got your f****** homeboy talking for you and you got your girlfriend selling tour passes. Stop it. Knock it the f*** off.”
Although some think the “Queen” rapper is just being a sore loser, she isn’t lying. Travis Scott dropped new merchandise that came along with his album “Astroworld” that Billboard counted towards sales.
Nicki continued to say: “When [Travis] comes along and sells a tour pass that has nothing to do with his f****** music and says he’s sold more than Kanye West and Nas—no you f***** didn’t, keep it the f*** real. I know I’m that b****, I know I’m No. 1.”
Right now, Ariana, Nicki, and Travis all have some of the highest charting songs. Who do you think will be number one when the new data is released?
