After their sudden split last weekend, Ariana Grande has kicked Pete Davidson out of their $16 million New York City apartment and changed the locks. Even though it was an “amicable breakup,” a new report claims that Grande went to extreme lengths to make sure she would have no contact with Davison when their engagement came to an abrupt end.
An insider says that Grande was the one who ended the relationship. And, if Davidson had his way they would still be together.
“Ariana is going through a very rough time right now, and she has the absolute support of her family and friends,” revealed the source. “She has a lot of work to do on herself, and she is in the process of healing and recovering from the breakup.”
Grande and Davidson purchased the 4,000 square foot apartment back in June after dating for one month and getting engaged. But now, the 25-year-old singer has changed the locks because she doesn’t want Davidson around for support after the brutal breakup.
Just last month, Davidson gushed on Saturday Night Live about his relationship with Grande, saying that “she pays 60 grand for rent, and all I have to do is stock the fridge.”
These past few months have been pretty intense for Grande. In addition to her whirlwind romance and split from Davidson, she was also hit hard by the unexpected death of her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller, He died from an apparent drug overdose on September 7th.
According to Radar Online, just a few days after her split from Pete Davidson, Grande taped the upcoming NBC special A Very Wicked Halloween, which is a tribute to her favorite Broadway musical, Wicked. And, when shooting was finished, she announced that she was taking a break from social media.
She wrote on Instagram that it was a special day, and time to say goodbye to the internet for a bit. Grande explained that she needed to stay away because it was too hard to avoid the news that she “isn’t trying to see right now.”
But, she is still honoring her performance commitments because she doesn’t want to let her fans or managers down. She did seem less cheery without the $100,000 diamond engagement ring that Davidson gave her. But, sources say her voice was angelic as ever.
An eyewitness says that Ariana Grande walked out of the NBC studios after shooting the special, and she had her hand in her pocket, so people couldn’t see it. But, she eventually took her hand out, and fans immediately noticed the ring was missing. But, she still gave a flawless performance.
A Very Wicked Halloween will air later this month on NBC.
