Ariana Grande Defends Naming A Song On Her New Album After Fiance Pete Davidson

It’s been quite the whirlwind romance for Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson. So much so that some are questioning the rush that is causing things to move so quickly with them all in a matter of weeks. There has been some criticism and speculation regarding their relationship, it’s impetus and specific variables that many fans have raised.
Davidson recently gifted Grande a pendant that belonged to his father, who passed away in the 9/11 attacks.
Many questioned this decision which lead Davidson to defend this choice saying that Grande wasn’t just “some girl.”
Now it seems that the songstress is the one that is feeling the need to defend her own choices when it comes to her husband-to-be.
With a new album called Sweetener due out in August, Grande has been doing much publicity and social media postings regarding her newly released singles and upcoming project.
Grande is very open and communicative with her fans. It’s not uncommon for her to repost things they’ve posted on social media or interact with them directly in the comment section of Instagram or RT them on Twitter.
While most of these interactions are sweet and positive, recently that wasn’t the case.
A fan commented saying that she didn’t think that Grande should have named one of her songs ‘Pete’, after the Saturday Night Live comedian as they’ve only been together a short period of time.
Grande saw the comment and decided to respond.
“He’s my fiance. This is my album. I’m an honest and emotional artist and human being and if my openness in my work isn’t for you, that’s OK; I won’t be offended. Still wishing y’all all the love in the world.”
Another fan praised Grande’s decision to showcase her love and relationship so directly through her music.
Grande thanked the fan saying “it’s a special song about the most special human being I’ve ever met.”
