It’s been a little over the week since Mac Miller tragically overdosed at the young age of 26. Many celebrities have spoken out about how the rapper’s death affected them personally and those who were closest to him are still having a hard time accepting the reality of not having him around anymore.
After trolls attacked her on social media for causing the “Self Care” artist’s demise, Ariana Grande finally paid tribute to Mac via social media with a caption that spoke about his soul and wished him peace.
On September 15, the singer uploaded screenshots of two of Millers songs off his final album.
Schoolboy Q was not only a collaborator of the late rapper but also an extremely close friend.

i adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will. i can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. i’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you’re okay now. rest.
Q announced that he would be pushing his album back due to the devastating loss.
The TDE signee told a recent crowd: “With my n**** gone right now, I just don’t feel right putting out an album. As y’all can tell, I’m not my real self right now. I shouldn’t even be here right now. But like I said, my n**** Mac would not want me to be in the house sad. He would clown me for some weird s***. I’m here today ’cause it’s no way he would allow me to sit in the house and be a little b****. I’m not gon’ be a little b****.”
Schoolboy added that he’s not ready to do promotional interviews that will inevitably ask about Miller’s death.
“I’ma go back, and I’ma figure out when I’ma put this f***** album out, because y’all are going to get this album. I promise that. I’m just not ready to walk into the radio station and the first thing they ask me is ‘So Mac Miller…’ I’m not ready to deal with those questions. I’m not ready to put nothing out right now. I’m sorry.”
It’s obvious that the hip-hop community is understandably taking the loss hard. Mac’s family is currently making funeral arrangements.
