In a new interview, Dwayne Johnson talked about that old feud with his Fast and Furious co-star, Vin Diesel. Fans will remember an incident last year whereby The Rock, or Dwayne Johnson, took to Instagram to slam all of the “candy-as*es” he had to work with every day.
When speaking with reporters from Rolling Stone, Dwayne looked back on the moment and explained that although they did butt heads briefly, it wasn’t that big of a deal.
The hype was mostly media conjecture, and both stars are comfortable with each other now. No hard feelings at all. Johnson accused some of the men he worked with as “chicken-shi*s who” were scared to do anything, whatever that meant.
According to reports at the time, Johnson and Diesel were not in any scenes together. The former WWE star explained that he and Diesel have different ways of going about “professionalism” and making movies.
Their philosophy is fundamentally different. Johnson said he and Diesel did butt heads, and it took time for them to clear everything up, but now that they understand each other better, the clarity is there, and everything is all good between them as a result.
However, Johnson said he could erase the part about “not wishing him ill will,” he’d rather just explain that there is “clarity.” It looks like the two stars don’t like each other at all.
As for his future with the series, Dwayne admitted he’s not sure if he’ll come back for the ninth installment.
He’s more focused on working on the spin-off along with Jason Statham, “Hobbs and Shaw.” The movie is slated to come out next year. Fans will remember that the film is what riled up Tyrese Gibson so bad; Gibson accused the former wrestler of making the franchise “all about him.”
