Anna Duggar Returns To Social Media And Gives ‘Counting On’ Fans A Scary Update On Baby Mason

Since Josh Duggar’s molestation and cheating scandal back in 2015, we don’t get many updates about his wife Anna Duggar and their five kids anymore. The former 19 Kids & Counting stars have all but disappeared, and they are not part of the family’s spinoff Counting On.
But after taking a two-year hiatus, Anna returned to social media earlier this year, and every once in a while, she will post about her kids and give fans a glimpse into their lives. And in her most recent post, she shared an update about their youngest son, Mason.
Anna posted a video of Mason eating pancakes and wrote, “Pancakes for a Saturday brunch may seem ordinary, but today at our house it is a big deal! It is Mason’s first time to have dairy-free pancakes!”
She went on to reveal that the one-year-old is allergic to dairy, and it was so severe that she had to stop breastfeeding temporarily. She says his allergies showed up when he was two weeks old, so she had to switch him to formula while she cut dairy out of her diet. But, she also had to cut out other potential allergy-causing foods like gluten, corn, soy, eggs, nuts, and chicken, and then slowly added things back to her diet to figure out what Mason was allergic to.
It turned out that he was only allergic to dairy, and by the time he was four months old, she had returned to breastfeeding. Anna says that Mason was healthy and thriving — reaching 20 pounds at six months old.
Now that he is just days away from turning one, he has started eating solids, and that is why eating pancakes was such a big deal for the little guy.
Anna says it was a difficult process figuring out what Mason was allergic to, but sometimes in life, we face a mountain that seems impossible. And, she says that if we pray and ask God to move that mountain, sometimes he wants us to climb it. Anna says that even though it was unexpected and a lot of hard work, it was worth it. And, she added that God’s grace was sufficient every step of the way.
The mom of five also shared some encouragement with her followers to help them climb their own mountains, and then she asked for help with finding a recipe for dairy-free pizza.
Earlier this summer Anna Duggar posted about the “wonderful adventure” she has had with her husband over the past ten years, and she thanked God for his redeeming grace and all of his blessings along the way.
New episodes of Counting On air Monday nights on TLC.
