According to the woman, she has actually reported Matt Lauer’s inappropriate behavior herself before! Apparently, the reporting took place back in 2012 and Ann Curry did it on behalf of another woman.
The former Today co-host revealed that she approached management officials after a female staff member told her Lauer ‘sexually harassed’ her.
During her last year on the Today show, ‘A woman approached me and asked me tearfully if I could help her. She was afraid of losing her job. …I believed her.’
The alleged victim’s identity is not mentioned but Lauer’s is.
As you know already, the man was fired back in November of last year for ‘inappropriate sexual behavior.’
‘I told management they had a problem and they needed to keep an eye on him and how he deals with women, ‘ Ann says.
In addition to that, not only did the newswoman refuse to name any NBC staff members she approached but according to a network spokesperson, there are no records of her reporting the said incident.
Meanwhile, Lauer responded to other sexual misconduct accusations that have appeared following his shameful firing but not to Curry’s claim.
‘I have not made any public comments on the false stories from biased or anonymous sources that have been reporting about me over these past few months.’
‘I remained silent in an attempt to protect my loved ones from further embarrassment and restore a small degree of the privacy they’ve lost. But defending my family now requires me to speak up,’ Lauer said after five months of silence.
‘I fully acknowledge I acted inappropriately as a husband, father, and principal at NBC. However I want to make it clear that any allegations or reports of coercive, aggressive or abusive actions, at any time, are absolutely false,’ he concluded.
