According to new reports, Angelina Jolie’s alleged plans to cut Brad Pitt from her life and from the lives of their children may affect her more in the end. Apparently, the mother of six should mellow down her custody war if she doesn’t want the judge to turn against her.
Reportedly, Jolie is doing whatever she can to sabotage her ex-husband’s chances to spend time with the young ones.
However, her aggressive attempts at keeping him away might lose her custody of their bunch, Orange County attorney E. Marshall Levy Esq. explained for HollywoodLife.
‘If the Judge feels that her repeated violations will not stop, he does have the right to change custody. drawing the kids into the conflict and/or throwing hissy fits in front of the kids are both no-nos,’ Levy tells the outlet.
‘This judge is probably wary of the publicity and is treading more carefully. But, ultimately, a judge can make changes, and will do as long as they can show any changes made are strictly in the best interest of the children.’
Given the fact that ‘the Courts prefer stability and continuity for minor children,’ the former couple should have been given a co-parenting plan that involved a temporary routine until a permanent settlement would be reached by the court.
But ‘if there is a continued violation which is affecting the children’s relationship with the dad, the court has the authority to flip the custody script. This is not done lightly, and the violations must be very serious, and have occurred after continued warnings.’
Levy did mention however that each judge ‘handles their courtroom differently.’
The attorney went on to explain that in most cases, the parent preferred to be given custody is the one more open to allowing and facilitating a good and stable relationship with the other parent.
That being said, it sounds like Angie’s reported unwillingness to have Brad in the kids’ lives might lose her custody.
