We have finally hit the two-year mark since Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie split, and as their messy divorce rages on, Jolie has been trying to make “life a little brighter” for their six children. Even though things couldn’t get much worse between Pitt and Jolie, they know that the divorce is impacting their children, and Jolie is spending as much time as she can with them, so they can get closer.
Cameras have caught Jolie out and about with Maddox, 17, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, Vivienne, 10, and Knox, 10, all summer long. They’ve made trips to Whole Foods and went on a hike for Labor Day, plus they have gone on shopping trips and ice cream dates.

Insiders say that Jolie has been going the extra mile for her kids on purpose, but it isn’t because she wants them to choose her over their dad.
“Angelina’s kids are everything to her, their wellbeing is her top priority,” says a source. “She loves them all dearly. Since the divorce, she has felt guilty about the trauma the kids are dealing with, so she has doubled her efforts to make them happy. So yes, there have been lots of new clothes, trips to the toy shops and to amusement parks. But it’s got nothing to do with her trying to turn them against Brad, it’s all about making life a little brighter for them during a very hard time in all their lives.”
Making the transition easy for kids is a challenge in any divorce, but it can be even more difficult when your family goes through it in public.
Late last month, Jolie and Pitt agreed to continue their temporary custody arrangement until they can reach a permanent solution. As of right now, the exes are sharing custody based on a schedule laid out by the judge in their case.
Despite Jolie’s attempts to make the transition easy for kids, her public image has definitely taken a hit lately. Because she has allegedly made attempts to drive a wedge between her kids and Pitt, her desired saintly appearance is no longer a possibility.

It doesn’t matter how much humanitarian work she does or how many charities she is involved in. The fact remains that she accused Pitt of being a deadbeat dad and claimed he hadn’t paid any significant child support over the past two years.
But, Pitt says that he has paid out $9.3 million to his estranged wife since their split, with $1.3 million going towards taking care of the kids and an $8 million loan to purchase a home.
At this point, Brad Pitt and his lawyers believe that Angelina Jolie and her legal team are making calculated moves in court to “increase the conflict,” and they are also an effort to manipulate media coverage.
The former couple’s next scheduled court date is in October.
