Angelina Jolie is losing the media war with her husband Brad Pitt when it comes to their divorce and custody battle. The negative press about Jolie’s attitude — plus her apparent push to cut Pitt out of their kids’ lives — has seemingly put everyone on Pitt’s side, and Jolie is furious about it.
According to OK! Magazine, the Oscar winner is fighting Pitt so hard that her lawyer, Laura Wasser, wants nothing more to do with the case. Insiders say that Wasser is on the verge of quitting after nearly two years of representing Jolie in the divorce and custody battle.

Jolie’s anger is apparently so bad that she is out for blood, and that doesn’t fly for Wasser, who her colleagues know is someone who advocates for sensible settlements and co-parenting.
A few weeks ago, the judge in Jolie and Pitt’s case split custody of their six kids between the two of them for the summer, even though she has been pushing for full physical and legal custody since the split in 2016.
The judge also told Jolie that trying to kill any relationship Pitt has with the kids could result in her losing custody permanently. Insiders say that the 43-year-old is acting out because of this and lately there has been a lot of screaming.
“She’s fueled with anger and has gotten ridiculously unreasonable,” says an insider.
It has gotten so venomous, that Wasser is apparently planning to quit, but Jolie is prepared. She has already found a new law firm to represent her if she does decide to leave. Even though it has been nearly two years since the split, it doesn’t look like the divorce is anywhere near settling.
California divorce attorney Kelly Chang Rickert says that it is very bad when a family lawyer quits, and it would reflect poorly on Jolie if Wasser left the case in the middle of the proceedings.
But, as long as Jolie holds on tight to her unreasonable hope for Pitt to be out their kids’ lives, their intense custody battle could continue for years — and it could get much worse.

Rickert says that since Jolie had some of the children before Pitt entered the picture, it is possible that she sees them as “her kids,” but she believes that will backfire. Rickert explains that judges are more likely to award custody to the “party that shares.”
“The most awful example of parenting in family court is a ‘gatekeeper’ – someone that refuses to allow the other parent to see the children. Angelina has already been warned. Continuing the fight will fare very badly for her,” says Rickert.
She added that the best thing Brad Pitt can do is to continue to seek time with his kids, and to always document when Angelina Jolie prevents him from doing so. If he keeps fighting, he will eventually get more time with them, he just needs to be patient and persistent.
