The drama in the long-running divorce case of former Hollywood power couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has hit a new level. Nearly two years after filing for divorce, Jolie is ready for her marriage to Pitt to be over. TMZ is reporting that before they settle the child custody issue, Jolie is asking the judge in her divorce case to end the marriage immediately, so she can be single again.
Jolie’s lawyers have just filed documents requesting the judge to issue a final divorce decree before the year is over, and the documents also claimed that Pitt hasn’t paid “meaningful child support” since the couple separated in September 2016.

Jolie claims there was an “informal agreement” for child support, but the Fight Club actor has not honored it. So, she wants the judge to issue a retroactive formal order of child support against Pitt to force him to pay up.
“[Pitt] has a duty to pay child support,” the filing states. “As of present, [Pitt] has paid no meaningful child support since separation. Given the informal arrangements around the payment of the children’s expenses have not been regularly sustained by [Pitt] for over a year and a half, [Jolie] intends to file an RFO for the establishment of a retroactive child support order.” (An RFO is a request for a court order.)
The court filing did not specify what “meaningful” support is, but a spokesman for Pitt says that the 54-year-old actor has fulfilled all of his commitments.
Under California law, providing for the children is the responsibility of each parent based upon the agreement they reach. However, it is not clear exactly what Jolie and Pitt agreed to when they split because both parties agreed to keep all case documents confidential.
However, that hasn’t prevented some information from leaking. Earlier this summer, a document surfaced that showed the judge in their divorce case ordered Jolie to allow their six children to spend more time with Pitt.

Jolie’s lawyers are requesting to appear before a judge, so they can schedule a status conference to address all of the financial issues in the separation.
Earlier this week, the news broke that Jolie’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, was ready to quit the case because of how difficult the Oscar winner has been to work with. And the recently-filed document shows that Jolie now has two new lawyers, who are presumably replacing Wasser.
One of those new lawyers is Samantha Bley DeJean, and she wrote the two-page brief that she later filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Brad Pitt’s team fired back at Angelina Jolie’s claims by insisting he has paid millions to support his children.
