The latest cover of Life & Style magazine read: “Brad Wins! Angelina Hands Over The Kids.” The story is underlined as “breaking news.” Judging by the title, one would assume that Brad Pitt has won the custody battle and Jolie is forced to give up her children, when in fact, that is not the case.
However, the story inside the pages refers in fact to a custody agreement that has been decided months ago. Actually, when the publication says that “Angie is being forced to hand over the kids to Brad,” it really means that the actor is still allowed visitation. That’s a big difference!
Still, it’s asserted, “Brad is going to get his visitation much more regularly now. She has lost in the court of public opinion and will have to hand over the kids to him and stop playing games.”
In fact, that decision has nothing to do with Pitt being allowed to see the kids – it only refers to the fact that the custody procession and everything that involves the minors is going to be kept private from the public eye.
Despite the publication trying to make it seem like there’s been an important development that is not the reality – Angelina Jolie still has primary custody of the kids for the time being.
It’s only towards the end of the article that the publication explains there has been no “new temporary custody agreement that would broaden Brad’s visitation rights.”
Furthermore, an insider is cited, saying that the former couple has been “abiding by terms of a short-term custody agreement in which Angie retained sole custody of the kids, with Brad having monitored visitation.”
Despite the click-baity title, in fact, the legal situation between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie remains the same.
