Angelina Jolie is arguably one of the most discussed celebrities of our time and she has been at the front of the pop culture gossip chain for years and years. As someone who grew up in the limelight, it would be unsurprising if she took copious amounts of precautions to ward off the signs of aging. Oddly enough, she takes the opposite approach.
The actress, activist, and director says she’s so proud of the woman she sees in the mirror every day and that she’s worked tirelessly throughout her life to become a person she was proud of.
Jolie says that one thing specifically that she enjoys when looking at her reflection is how much she looks like her mother. Her mother passed eleven years ago after an eight-year battle with ovarian and breast cancer.
She says she loves the signs of aging because they mean that she is living and getting older, which is something that not everyone has the privilege of experiencing.
Jolie is honest in saying she doesn’t necessarily love certain dark marks she may have acquired from a pregnancy but she does love seeing her age because she sees her family and that is greater than the superficial entity of her youth.
She admits to getting occasional treatments for certain dark marks by undergoing IPL skin treatments, though she doesn’t typically do much else in the way of beauty treatments. This is simply because she doesn’t have the time.
With six growing kids and her activism that keeps her busy, she’d rather be spending her days doing things that actually matter to her and the world.
There has been much talk about the separation between her and movie star ex- Brad Pitt and it appears that the two are still trying to hash out a custody agreement as far as their six children go.
Their inability to reach an agreement is likely because they both want more time with the children than the other is conceding to allow.
This is tricky as there’s also the realities of international travel, work, school and other things to consider. For the sake of the kids, hopefully, they come to some type of agreement soon.
