The feud between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry has been around for years. Fans theorized the whole situation, diss tracks were written, subtle shade thrown. However, until this historical moment there has been no official proof for the rumors.
The one responsible for shedding light over the whole thing is none other than Andy Cohen, who has talked about Taylor and Katy in his new memoir.
Calvin Harris was almost the one to make the feud official in a Twitter rant but nothing too conclusive. In his new book Superficial: More Adventures from the Andy Cohen Diaries , however, Cohen is revealing a specific situation with quotes to match.
It all started with a conversation he had with Taylor at the 2016 Met Gala, when, upon seeing that the singer was searching for a seat said the wrong thing unknowingly.
“Why I felt I needed to get involved I will never know (maybe I was auditioning for her squad?) but I innocently said exactly the wrong thing to her, which was, ‘Your friend Katy is sitting in the corner and there’s plenty of room around her.'”
Immediately Taylor responded with a very sassy question: “Katy who?”
Andy went on, adding:
“I said, ‘Perry,’ at which point she clearly let me know that she’s the exact opposite of her friend.”
Furthermore, Cohen shared that Taylor proceeded to warn him not to mention their conversation about Katy Perry on his show, Watch What Happens Live!
But of course, Cohen was sneaky enough to find a loophole, saying:
“She didn’t threaten me about putting it in my book, so here we are.”
Cohen also joked about the fact that he might have failed his “squad-ition” with Taylor. And now he might be the next victim on her list of people to take revenge on by writing songs about them. Try saying that out loud.
