It all started with the President’s son, Donald Trump Jr. seemingly accusing Anderson Cooper of making the Hurricane Florence flooding seem much worse than it actually was. The CNN host was quick to fire back in an epic way.
Don Jr.’s tweet was granted no less than ten minutes of Cooper’s Monday night show time, during which the man responded to the accusation.
The tweet included a picture of Cooper reporting on a flooded street while submerged in water all the way up to his waist.
While the image was taken during Hurricane Ike in 2008, it resurfaced when Hurricane Florence hit the Carolinas.
A lot of people accused Anderson of trying to make the flood at the time seem much worse than it really was by kneeling in the water.
Don Jr. seemingly took this opportunity to slam the entire network without directly referencing the online speculations about Anderson.
‘It’s a shame CNN’s ratings are down 41%. What is worse is that there is a simple solution they refuse to accept. Stop lying to try to make Donald Trump look bad,’ he tweeted.

But of course, the diss was not at all subtle, especially because Don Jr. also included the viral photo.
Obviously, he also believes Anderson was lying about the hurricane’s aftermath just for ratings.
‘I debated whether I should even respond tonight to the president’s son. I know he considers himself an outdoorsman and he pays a lot of money to be taken to wildlife in Africa that he then kills. But I’m not sure if he has actually been in a hurricane or flood. I did not see him down in North Carolina over the last few days helping, lending a hand, but I am sure he was doing something important besides just tweeting lies,’ Cooper said on air.
At some point, he also insisted that: ‘I’ve covered hurricanes for about fourteen years and it really makes me sad to think anyone would think I would try to fake something or overly dramatize a disaster.’
Cooper also called Don Jr. and his supporters ‘idiotic’ for believing such a thing during his ten minutes rant.
He even tweeted his video response, writing: ‘What are the chances @DonaldTrupmJr apologizes for lying about me? I’m not holding my breath.’ We’ll just have to wait and see!
