American Horror Story’ Season 8 Is ‘Unlike Anything We’ve Done’ Claims Creator Ryan Murphy

Filming for Season 8 of American Horror Story is almost underway and creator Ryan Murphy believes it is the most unique season to date. With production kicking off this month, Murphy teased that Season 8 will also feature the show’s biggest twist. What else is in store next season?
Per usual, Murphy did not elaborate too much on the plot details. Rumors have it that the season will be titled AHS: Radioactive, though Murphy did not confirm the earlier reports. He did however, reveal that a lot of old cast members will be back in action this year, including Evan Peters, Billie Lourd, Sarah Paulson and Kathy Bates.
Fans can also expect to see a few new faces, such as Joan Collins, who is portraying Peters’ grandma on the show.
“You will see so many fan favorites return that you’ll feel like it’s The Love Boat,” Murphy shared. “It’s a very high concept.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, Murphy also teased that there will be a huge hook this season. The AHS creator revealed that the twist will happen in the fifth episode, though he didn’t elaborate on what will go down.
He did, however, assure fans that Season 8 is “unlike anything we’ve done.” There’s no telling what Murphy is alluding to but, considering how crazy the past seasons have been, it sounds like we’re in for quite a ride this time around.
In addition to his work on AHS, Murphy is gearing up to kick off his massive deal with Netflix. This year, Murphy inked a $300 million deal with the streaming giant to produce a slew of shows.
This year, he is planning on releasing two shows: The Politician (with Gwyneth Paltrow, Barbara Streisand and Ben Platt) and Ratched (with AHS alum Sarah Paulson).

As for what’s next on Murphy’s plate, Netflix has pretty much given him the green light to work on whatever he wants. But instead of producing another scripted series, Murphy has his eyes set on kicking off a talk show of his own, a la David Letterman.
In fact, Murphy recently teased that he wants to create a talk show on Netflix, which would pair nicely with his show on FX, Pose.
In the meantime, FX has not released an official premiere date for Season 8 of American Horror Story. With production about to start, fans can expect the season to premiere sometime this fall.
