According to new reports, the latest episode of the hit anthology series American Horror Story has been edited in order to avoid airing a problematic scene that might have triggered a lot of people. Following the shocking Las Vegas shooting, the producers decided not to include a similar scene in the upcoming episode of the show.
On Monday, FX revealed that they were making essential changes to episode six of the currently airing season Cult, adding: ‘This opening, filmed two months prior and which portrays gun violence that has sadly become way too common in our country, includes a scene that some viewers might find traumatic.’
The scene that was cut out took place at the beginning of the episode, during one of Kai’s political speeches.
That is when someone, who we assume to be Ally opens fire and massacres a great number of the people present at the rally.
However, [spoiler alert] in the end of the episode, it turns out that it was a different character who pulled the trigger.
Although those who will be watching the new episode on FX tomorrow at 10 P.M. will only see the edited version, the original will be available ‘on the VOD platform of your cable, satellite or telco provider, as well as on the FX Networks non-linear platforms, FXNOW and FX+.’
What do you think about the change? Do you agree it was the best decision or do you want AHS to continue being unapologetic and show the reality in its rawest form?
