It started out, like most celebrity pregnancies do, as a rumor, but it turns out the story is true: Teen Mom OG star Amber Portwood is pregnant with her second child! The reality star has only been dating her current boyfriend, Andrew Glennon, for three months; so, fans are wondering if this baby was a complete surprise or did Portwood plan on expanding her family?
According to comments Portman made to Us Weekly before the pregnancy announcement, it doesn’t seem likely she planned for this baby.
“We’re going slow, and we’re just trying to be smart about everything, which is good to find somebody on your level like that,” said the Teen Mom OG star.
Getting pregnant three months into a relationship doesn’t exactly equate to slow and smart, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t thrilled about having another child. An insider says that the 27-year-old has been suffering from some morning sickness, but is happy she is expecting another baby.
Portwood met Glennon on the set of Marriage Boot Camp, while she was on the show with her ex, Matt Baier, and he worked as a lighting technician. Portwood and Baier broke up while filming Boot Camp after three years together, and Glennon pursued a romance with Portwood after shooting for the show wrapped earlier this year.
The couple made their public debut on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards in August, and she says that when she met Glennon, there were butterflies. But, when they started talking, she felt comfortable with him, and that is hard to find.
Portwood is already the mother of 8-year-old Leah, who she had with ex Gary Shirley. She first appeared on MTV’s 16 & Pregnant back in 2009 before becoming a member of the Teen Mom OG cast.
Five years ago, she spent 17 months in jail on drug possession charges, and she called off her wedding to Baier because he gave fellow Teen Mom cast member Catelynn Lowell a Xanax during a media day.
Per People Magazine, Amber Portwood is also struggling with borderline personality and bipolar disorder and told Boot Camp producers that getting pregnant wasn’t a good idea because of the medications she is taking. She said they would harm the fetus, but she has crazy mood swings without them.
The new season of Teen Mom OG premieres on November 27, on MTV.
