It looks like pregnancy might give some women ‘supernatural powers’.
It’s not completely out of the ordinary for women to realize their senses have heightened while carrying a child. This is the case with Amanda Seyfried who claims that ever since she got pregnant she has been able to smell electricity. Well, that is a bit strange to be honest, it sounds like a fantasy or science fiction movie.
During an interview at the Givenchy Live Irrésistible Délicieuse fragrance launch event in NYC, the pregnant actress talked about her changing body and its reactions.
“The only thing that I can’t tolerate is body odor. Normally body odor is, ‘Uh, it’s alright.’ But I cannot tolerate it anymore. If someone has it, I have to leave. I have a hard time with that.”
Fair enough, body odor is not supposed to be pleasant anyway, so of course it would affect her. During her chat with the reporters she also revealed her peculiar skill: “I can smell electricity. I swear to God I can smell the TV.”
That sounds like a superpower!
The 30 year old is pregnant for the first time with fiancé Thomas Sadoski. The happy couple met each other while working on the off-Broadway play ‘The Way We Get By’ in 2015. Later on, they reunited to film ‘The Last Word’ and that is when their relationship really started.
Amanda is excited about her first child and curious about how her body is going to keep on changing: “I was looking forward to it.”
Although for now, the actress is not really affected by any food, she admitted that she has a huge sweet-tooth. “I have a separate stomach for sweets. It’s pregnancy, too, I blame it on that. I didn’t think it was going to come back this harsh, but it did.”
