It seems that Kim Kardashian’s visit to the White House was a total success. She managed to convince President Donald Trump to grant clemency to the great-grandmother, Alice Marie Johnson.
‘President Trump commuted the sentence on Wednesday of a 63-year-old woman serving life in prison for a nonviolent drug conviction after her case was brought to his attention by the reality television star Kim Kardashian West,’ New York Times announced.
“While this administration will always be very tough on crime, it believes that those who have paid their debt to society and worked hard to better themselves while in prison deserve a second chance,” the White House said in a statement announcing the commutation.
Kim celebrated the news on her Twitter account.

‘This doesn’t make way for more individuals. This is literally saving one person. This isn’t prison reform. But it’s definitely not a negative,’ someone commented.
‘No. You save the world. If every person had the view you have no one would ever progress. Do think that every historical act of progress was because someone made a difference focusing on a gigantic group. No. They focused on a single person who made way for an entire group,’ another person commented on Twitter.
‘I think it’s great that you did this. What will get lost in the noise is that you used your access and platform to unselfishly bring attention to a massively under-reported tragedy (mass incarceration in America) and right a wrong. Well done,’ someone else praised Kim.
We also think that what Kim has done is excellent and it will probably lead to more good things happening. Congrats!
