We are sad to report today that Alexis Arquette has passed away. According to People Magazine, her time of death was September 11th, 12:32 a.m.
Before People reported on the story the rumor mill was already going strong. There were some people that claimed she was dead, while others said that she was still alive. Now, sadly, we know the truth.
Besides the report on People, her brother David Arquette tweeted about her death. Her other brother, Raymond also said his piece about the death of his transgender sister.
Raymond made it a point to mention that he was happy that Alexis had the opportunity to life the live that she wanted to when she transitioned from a male to a female. He also said that he wishes the very best for his sister in the afterlife. It is good to know that even after her death her family is not only supporting her but her decisions in life.
Alexis was a fantastic actress, as well as an LGBT activist. She fought hard for the rights of everyone in the LGBT community. Her goal was to end the discrimination and give everyone a new perspective of transgender people.
Alexis was born Robert Arquette. She decided to go through her transition to a woman in 2007. There was even a documentary about her life called “Alexis Arquette: She’s My Brother.”
Alexis made her on-screen debut when she was still Robert. You can see her acting in movies such as Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Of Mice and Men, Bride of Chucky, Last Exit to Brooklyn. She also made special guest appearances on the TV shows Friends and Californication.
We send our condolences to our family and friends. It is sad to see such a great star pass away.
