On February 14, 2018, Alexander Polinsky, accompanied by his former Charles in Charge co-star and close friend Nicole Eggert and attorney Lisa Bloom spoke live for the first time regarding the allegations he has made against Scott Baio.
According to Polinsky, Scott Baio subjected him to three-years of abuse after he walked in and caught Baio sexually molesting Nicole Eggert on the set of the hit show that Baio not only starred in but directed. Polinsky was emotional and fought back tears as he read his statement detailing what he described as sexual harassment, physical, and mental abuse in front of cameras.
Nicole Eggert has alleged that Scott Baio began sexually abusing her when she was 14-years-old. She says the abuse continued until she turned 17 and the show ended. Polinsky said the abuse he endured at Scott Baio’s hands went on from the ages of 12-15. Scott Baio has denied the allegations against him and has vowed to fight for his innocence and clear his name.
Alexander Polinsky detailed the allegations and said that when he saw Nicole Eggert sitting on Baio’s lap, he thought that it was innocent and that Baio was telling the kids on the set a story. Describing himself as naive, Polinsky explained that as an 11-year-old child actor, being cast on Charles in Charge was the highlight of his life.
He admired Scott Baio who was 25-years-old at the time. When Polinsky tried to climb up on Baio’s lap to hear the story, Baio allegedly rebuked him, hurled him to the floor and referred to him as a “fa$$ot”. Polinsky said it was the beginning of a barrage of homophobic assaults that Baio repeatedly assaulted him with.
Alexander Polinsky continued to describe a work environment that consisted of physical and verbal abuse and bullying.

One of the gravest allegations Alexander Polinsky made towards Scott Baio, was that while on set, Baio cut out a hole in his canvas, private dressing room, and exposed himself to Alexander while he was a minor. Polinsky also alleged that Baio humiliated him by pulling his pants down in front of approximately 100 people.
It’s unclear whether law enforcement will seek criminal proceedings against Baio for the alleged abuse. The serious of all the allegations that have come forward is the sexual abuse against Nicole Eggert.
When asked what Nicole Eggert and Alexander Polinsky would like from Scott Baio, they both agreed that they want a public apology.
At this time, neither Nicole Eggert or Alexander Polinsky have filed civil suits against Scott Baio.
