Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding has touched billions of people, and it sounds like Adele is one of them. The singer tuned in just like the rest of the estimated three billion people and she even donned her very best fascinator and veil to mark the special event.
Not only that but she seemed super comfortable as she curled up on the couch with a blanket and the appropriate glass of champagne.
As Adele watched the couple exchange their sweet vows, she remembered Princess Diana.
That being said, she made sure to also mention the regretted royal member in her congratulatory message to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
She took to Instagram to write: ‘Congratulations Meghan and Harry. You are the most beautiful bride. I cannot stop thinking of how happy Princess Diana is upstairs x.’
Meanwhile, the newlywed couple made sure to pay tribute to Lady Di in more than one way.
For instance, it was confirmed by Kensington Palace to E! News that the stunning emerald-cut aquamarine ring Meghan wore at their wedding reception has indeed once belonged to Princess Diana.
In addition, Meghan’s bouquet was also an homage to the woman who would have been her mother-in-law as Diana’s favorite flower was the forget-me-not which Harry himself picked from the Palace garden.
Equally as touching was the fact that the pair chose for the congregation to sing Guide Me, O Thou Great Redeemer, the same song that was sung at the beloved Princess’ funeral in 1997.
Last November, after confirming their engagement, the pair also revealed that Markle’s sparkler included two precious stones from Diana’s own collection.
‘I think everything about Harry’s thoughtfulness is—and the inclusion of that and obviously not being able to meet his mom it is so important to me to—to know that she is a part of this with us,’ Meghan stated at the time.
