Adam Levine and his wife, Behati Prinsloo, are expecting their second child soon, and a report has surfaced that claims the Maroon 5 singer might be making a big career change, so he can focus on his growing family. Will Levine give up his coveted spot as a coach on The Voice?
Radar Online is reporting that Levine is considering leaving the reality singing competition, so he can spend more time with his family. Levine and Prinsloo welcomed their first daughter, Dusty Rose, sixteen months ago. But now that another baby is coming any day now, a source claims that Prinsloo is putting pressure on Levine to quit so he can be more present in their kids’ lives.
Levine has been a coach on the hit show since 2011, and even though he has good times with his good friend, Blake Shelton, he has been butting heads with newer judges like Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson.
The insider goes on to claim that Levine would like to take a couple of years off, so he can be a stay-at-home dad and work on some new music.
In a recent interview, Levine teased about a possible departure.
“Maybe I’d let Bruno Mars in the door. We’ll see how many kids Justin Timberlake has, if he can handle another job. Maybe Justin can do it. And yeah, that’s pretty much it,” said Levine.
If Levine does decide to leave, that could mean the end of Shelton’s time on the show, too. The insider claims that Levine’s departure would make it easy for Shelton to follow. He has apparently been ready to go since Gwen Stefani left.
As for Levine and his family, he recently appeared on The Jimmy Kimmel Show and told a hilarious story about the birth of his first daughter.
He said that Carson Daly told him to eat during the birthing process, so he could stay energized. However, Levine took it a bit too far. He said it was good advice, but you can’t abuse it. Levine ordered a ton of food, including cheeseburgers and pizza.
This experience taught him that he is a nervous eater, and he ended up stuffing himself while waiting for Prinsloo’s water to break. Once the two headed for the hospital, it turns out Levine was ready to blow. As the crowd roared with laughter, he explained that he was bursting at the seams and he was “gonna s**t my pants.”
Levine says he didn’t want to miss the birth of his daughter, so he avoided the bathroom. But, once she arrived, he went straight there – without a second to spare.
Watch Adam Levine on The Voice – perhaps for the last time – when Season 14 premieres on February 26, 2018, on NBC.
