The Golden Globes are right around the corner and we can’t wait to see who will go home with the iconic trophy this year.
We have talked about best TV shows, best actors and now it’s time for the ladies to compete for the award. We can’t wait to see which actresses will be the best – according to the Globes that is.
Until then, here are our predictions:
In the category of “Best Actress in a Comedy,” Tracee Ellis Ross’ amazingly complex role as Rainbow Johnson on Blackish should bring her the big award but it’s a long shot. Instead, Issa Rae will almost certainly win for Insecure.
When we talk about “Best Actress in a Drama,” Winona Ryder’s is most probably going to win judging by previous years and the types of female roles that were recognized in the past in this category.
We agree that Ryder is an accomplished and amazing actress but her role on Stranger Things is very one dimensional. She portrayed the grieving mother very well but is that enough to win?
We believe that Ryder is still going to win despite Keri Russell’s thrilling and emotional performance as Elizabeth Jennings on The Americans.
This year, Kerry Washington was nominated for her role as Anita Hill in HBO’s Confirmation.
Charlotte Rampling is also a possibility but Sarah Paulson’s outstanding performance as Marcia Clark on The People v OJ Simpson is the real competition for the most probable winner, who, in our opinion is going to be Felicity Huffman, for American Crime.
