The American Music Awards event was amazing and it blew us all away with both its good artists with quality songs, as well as with great fashion sense and elegance on the red carpet. Perhaps the most dazzling and impeccably dressed at the AMAs was the host of the show, Gigi Hadid, who outdid herself, changing her outfit five times, all dresses designer looks that made her stand out and shine, highlighting her already extreme beauty.
However, not everyone has Gigi’s fashion sense and style, or a great stylist, therefore, among many beautiful outfits, there were some that did not raise to par with the greatness of the event. The red carpet had to witness some fashion disasters as well.
I mean, fashion risks are to be admired most of the time, but it takes a lot of confidence and a purpose to pull off some of these outfits, not to mention pushing the boundaries is different from crossing the line. Maybe you remember the 2001 disaster, the infamous, denim-on-denim completed with a denim cowboy hat of Justin Timberlake, as well as the preposterous matching with Britney Spears. That was not cute and not appropriate for such a big red carpet event. It did cross the line and it made him a Timberlake a laughing stock for some time.
Here are, in our opinion, some of the worst dressed attendees at this year’s American Music Awards.
First of all, Bella Thorne wore an all-black pantsuit and a bralette. The outfit by itself was not so bad, however, when paired with multicolored hair it became totally tacky and not award ceremony worthy at all.
Joan Smalls is another artist that usually is amazing when it comes to personal style, but this time it just didn’t work at all. Her floral maxi dress felt too casual, out of season and it didn’t fit her silhouette well either. The dress would’ve been much more appreciated at a garden party in the spring than on the red carpet.
